Announcements:
OEC Response to Helene
The OEC is extremely concerned for our students, families, PSU staff, and NCDPI staff impacted either directly or indirectly by Helene. To support recovery efforts, the OEC is streamlining our statewide communication in collaboration with other offices across the NCDPI.
Please note the following regarding professional learning and/or technical assistance events:
Safety is our priority. We understand that all priorities have shifted for those impacted by Helene.
In-person events sponsored/facilitated by the OEC should be considered cancelled if the public school unit in which the event is to be held is closed for students.
Virtual events will be held as scheduled; however, it is understood that attendance may be adversely impacted. Recordings or repeated opportunities will be made available as conditions improve.
Virtual events that are to be hosted by an OEC-staff member impacted by Helene may not occur. Please extend grace if a no-show occurs and expect follow-up communication as soon as conditions improve for all.
