The IEP process can be confusing and sometimes hard to understand how to appropriate document services provided by the educational interpreter. This workshop will explain the difference between an accommodation and when the interpreter should be listed as a related service for a students IEP.

This two-day in-person course is a deep dive into language development and strategies for providers to encourage and teach communication to students who have complex needs. Participants will become familiar with communicative functions, informal assessment tools, augmentative and alternate communication teaching methodologies and explore ways to embed communication within instruction aligned with the Extended Content Standards.
