English Language Identification Assessments in NC

WIDA Screener for Kindergarten

The WIDA Screener for Kindergarten is the state adopted English language identification assessment given to incoming kindergarteners and grade 1 (first semester) students to assist educators with the identification of students as English Learners (ELs).

WIDA Screener

The WIDA Screener is the state adopted English language identification assessment given to incoming students in grade 1 (second semester) through grade 12 to assist educators with the identification of students as English Learners (ELs).

WIDA Alternate Screener

The WIDA Alternate Screener is the state adopted English language identification alternate assessment given to students in kindergarten through grade 12, with the most significant cognitive disabilities, to assist educators with the identification of students as English Learners (ELs).

WIDA ACCESS for Kindergarten

The WIDA ACCESS for Kindergarten is the state adopted annual English language proficiency assessment that complies with Title I of the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) legislation.

WIDA ACCESS

The WIDA ACCESS is the state adopted annual English language proficiency assessment administered to students in grades 1 through 12 that complies with Title I of the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) legislation.

WIDA Alternate ACCESS

The WIDA Alternate ACCESS is the state adopted annual English language proficiency alternate assessment administered to students in kindergarten through grade 12, with the most significant cognitive disabilities, that complies with Title I of the federal ESEA as amended by the ESSA legislation.
