Diagnostic Services
Diagnostic Services, housed within NCDPI’s Office of District and School Support Services (ODSSS), partners with schools and districts to conduct comprehensive needs assessments that provide a clear and objective understanding of current practices, systems, strengths, challenges, and areas for improvement. Grounded in research demonstrating that organizations make more effective decisions when they engage in thoughtful analysis of data and evidence, Diagnostic Services supports educational leaders in examining the factors that influence student outcomes and organizational effectiveness.
Through needs assessment processes and follow-up support, Diagnostic Services facilitates a systematic examination of school and district practices, helping leaders identify priorities, understand the root causes of challenges, and build upon existing strengths.
The ANA or CNA findings guide the:
- development of meaningful improvement plans;
- establishment of measurable benchmarks for progress; and
- implementation of sustainable, systemic change.
As a cornerstone of continuous improvement, Diagnostic Services equips districts and schools with the information, tools, and support needed to make informed decisions, strengthen organizational capacity, and improve outcomes for all students.
