Driving Eligibility Student information

NC SCHOOLS	WHERE TO OBTAIN ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE
Public	Public school where student is enrolled
Charter	Charter school where student is enrolled
Private	Private school where student is enrolled.
Home School	Chief Administrators may request a Driver’s Eligibility Certificate from the Division of Non-Public Education once their student completes Driver’s Education. Home School requirements G. S. 115C-563. Students whose parent or guardian determines what is best for the education of their children.

OTHER SCHOOLS AND PROGRAMS	WHERE TO OBTAIN DRIVER ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATES (Students not eligible for driver education in public schools)

Boarding School out of state	NC public school district where student’s permanent residence is located. Must provide evidence of compliance from school of attendance.
