Career and Technical Education Pathway

The Career and Technical Education pathway offers a head start on career pathways for students interested in career opportunities following high school graduation, or continuing in career pathways at NC Community Colleges. NC Community Colleges offer many CTE course offerings in various career pathways. CTE opportunities vary from one community college to another. Students may be able to earn high school credit for community college CTE courses.

Students may also take high school CTE courses aligned to career pathways, and they may be able to earn college credit at the local community college for these courses. To learn more about opportunities to receive college credit for high school CTE courses in accordance with the NC High School to Community College Articulation Agreement, please see your high school counselor or Career Development Coordinator.

Each career pathway offers a variety of courses. Here is an overview of the career pathway options. If you would like additional details about Career and Technical Education and the options available, please see your high school counselor or the CTE website.
