This virtual session will explore key features of collaborative practice for developing and implementing effective IEPs. Full day in-person workshops are also offered to compliment this foundational content and go into more depth with applied activities.

This session will focus on Data-Driven Planning HLPs with direct application to best practices for school-based occupational therapy. Effective occupational therapy evaluation practices will be discussed including educationally relevant, top down, student-centered, strengths-based, and comprehensive approaches (Frolek Clark & Rioux, 2019).

Participants will explore key components of a high-quality preschool exceptional children’s program, application of NC Policies, related SPP/APR Indicators, early childhood best practices, and strategies for ensuring strong program outcomes. Deeper discussion will include least restrictive environment planning as well as instructional considerations.
