To effectively support all preschool children, including those with disabilities, it's essential to understand each child's developmental level and use appropriate adaptations to guide instruction. This session will focus on using the North Carolina Foundations Developmental Indicators to understand a child’s current development and determine the next learning target.

Adapted Physical Education Office Hours on 2nd Wednesdays 12-1p, except 10.10.25 (not 10.8), and not in June or July. APE office hours will focus on questions and discussion of strategies and resources to support collaborative teams with Adapted Physical Education. For example, how to collaborate for APE evaluation, IEP development, & service provision.

The 3rd Mondays each month (except June & July), we will meet at 2:30p to get questions answered, share best practices, ideas & procedures, discuss key topics for practicing in schools, learn about policies, clarify issues, network, brainstorm together. This group is open to any discipline, the only requirement is interest in increasing your comfort & competence as a school-based practitioner!

Bring your lunch and any questions, confusion or issues you have regarding physical therapy, Section 504, campus accessibility, equipment for students, contracting, developing PRC 118/119 grants, program development (APE, transportation, Medicaid, PT, physical activity, etc.) or any topics I can assist with or talk through with you.
