A two-day event to establish reliability using the TPOT™, an in-depth tool that provides information on how well teachers are implementing practices related to universal, targeted, and individualized support. Reliability certification supports coaches to conduct a classroom observation and teacher interview, uncovering detailed information about the quality of 14 key social-emotional teaching practices, noting red flags that indicate areas for immediate support, and observing how teachers respond to challenging behaviors. The session concludes with a performance based assessment that leads to reliability certification.
Prerequisite: Participants must take NC Inclusive Practices* Preschool Module 1 (formerly the Pyramid Model Tiered Instructional Practices Series) prior to taking TPOT Reliability Certification. (Please note the NC Inclusive Practices Series aligns with the NCPMI teaching practices).
* A Positive Behavioral Supports Professional Learning Series for Educators Serving Young Children with Disabilities
Note: An abbreviated TPOT reliability re-certification every three years for coaches.
