Description: This professional learning session introduces augmentative and alternative communication for learners who are Deaf Plus. The session centers on how AAC can expand access to meaningful and autonomous communication for these learners. Participants will examine common myths, identify when AAC may support a student’s communication goals, and learn strategies for teaching learners who are Deaf Plus with AAC. The training honors the wide range of communication modalities they use and supports teams in integrating AAC into everyday instruction.
