Research & Evaluation

The Research and Evaluation team is a major strand/ area housed under the Office of Innovation which focuses on the development and management research and evaluation related to federal COVID relief efforts (ESSER II, III). The Research and Evaluation team also supports the design and implementation of studies that evaluate the effectiveness of learning recovery programs and policies - including data collection, analysis, and formulation of research reports through the establishment of internal and external research partnerships.

The Research and Evaluation team will combat the impact of lost instructional time and accelerate learning for all students by:

  • Evaluating the implementation and impact of the interventions sponsored by the OLR and support decision-making about the continuation, expansion, and targeting of the programs.
  • Using research to identify, extend, scale, and sustain programs that demonstrate impact, and build a clearinghouse of NC Promising Practice
