Professional Development NC MTSS School Based Module Information The Integrated Academic & Behavior Systems (IABS) Team intentionally designed online training modules to be utilized in conjunction with real-time processing and application within a team, such as a PLC or school/district leadership team, and with coaching support. The Online modules created by the IABS Division are not intended for individuals to complete and implement on their own. Even though many district or school team members go through the content individually, it is expected that the content will then be discussed and implemented through established teaming structures. **Update: To provide the best support possible to the field, the IABS team will be updating the school MTSS modules. As a result, these modules will no longer be available beginning June 30, 2022. If you are currently participating in any of these courses, please plan to complete them by June 30, 2022. Registration for the courses will close on December 31, 2021. If you have immediate needs between January 1, 2022, and July 1, 2022, please contact your District MTSS Coordinator. If you are a District MTSS Coordinator with immediate needs, please contact your Regional IABS Consultant. Creating a Professional Culture Based on SEL The Creating a Professional Culture Based on Social and Emotional Learning course is designed as part of an online professional learning series developed by Integrated Academic and Behavior Systems. The intent of the series is to support teacher, administrator, and school staff understanding of what social and emotional learning (SEL) is and its importance, as well as to explain how to implement and integrate SEL into their respective contexts in a culturally responsive way. North Caroling De-escalation: Prevention and Intervention This course is intended for general education teachers and special education teachers/providers. We anticipate this course to be beneficial to you by providing appropriate training in procedures and addressing student behavior in a positive and safe manner. This is directly in response to House Bill 1032/Deborah Greenblatt Act (Session Law 2005-205): An act to clarify the permissible use of seclusion and restraint in the Public Schools and to provide training in the management of student behavior. For more information on how to enroll in these courses contact your IABS Regional Consultant.
