Advanced Courses Satisfying Graduation Requirements (GRAD-008) - See also the Advanced Programs area in the World Languages Resources Hub

Course for Credit (CCRE-001)

  • Section 3 - Students in grades 6-8 may earn high school credit for world language courses if the course meets the Standard Course of Study.
  • Section 8 - CDM may be used for any high school credit world language course. Please see the World Languages CDM Information, an updated version of the CDM Back to School Memo, for additional guidance for World Languages.
  • Section 9 - Level I and Level II world language courses can be offered as honors level or standard level.

  • Students - Global Languages Endorsement (GLE), NC's Seal of Biliteracy
  • Educators - Global Educator Digital Badge (GEDB)
  • Schools - Global-Ready School (GRS) Designation
  • Districts - Global-Ready District (GRD) Designation

Grading and Transcript Standards (GRAD-009)

  • Section 4 - Level III and higher classical and modern language courses, and Level II heritage language courses, are inherently honors courses.
