The Teaching Pyramid Observation tool for Kindergarten (TPOT-K) is the fidelity measurement tool that supports the implementation of Pyramid Model Practice in Kindergarten. This professional learning opportunity will address the procedures for administering the TPOT-K , including how to prepare for the administration, procedures to use during the observation and interview, how to identify incidents of challenging behavior, and how to score items. The session will conclude with a performance based assessment that leads to reliability certification.

TPOT™ is an in-depth tool that provides information on how well teachers are implementing practices related to universal, targeted, and individualized support. This reliability training will support your internal coach to conduct a classroom observation and teacher interview, uncovering detailed information about the quality of 14 key teaching practices, noting red flags that indicate areas for immediate support, and observing how teachers respond to challenging behaviors.
November 19, 2024, 9am - 4pm
Participants will gain knowledge of the history and purpose of First Response, consider how First Response is part of a tiered system of support, and understand the definitions and impact of exclusionary discipline practices. The behavioral escalation cycle, the importance of data collection, and environmental, verbal, and physical strategies to use to prevent or de-escalate imminent dangerous behavior will be covered.Nov. 19, 2024, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm*Prerequisite: Participants must take Pyramid Model Practices for Preschool, Tier I prior to taking First Response.

Participants will become familiar with strategies for providing intensive, individualized support for emotional-social development and to address persistent challenging behavior. Tier III examines the steps to assess the function of the child’s behavior and to develop a behavior support plan designed with strategies to provide intensive, individualized instruction with progress monitoring.*Prerequisite: Participants must take Pyramid Model Practices for Preschool, Tier I and Tier II, prior to taking Tier II.Jan. 13 & 14, 2025, 1:00-4:00 pm
