This session will provide skills, strategies, and resources needed to teach vocabulary and word learning strategies to students who are deaf or hard of hearing. The course has numerous opportunities for reflection and application of learning, and is moderated by a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist.

Foundations of Communication is a course developed in an inter-disciplinary approach between consultants at DPI in the areas of Speech and Language Pathology, Autism and Significant Cognitive Disabilities. This two-day course is an in-depth dive into language development and strategies for providers to encourage and teach communication to students who are learning to communicate.

In this virtual professional development session, participants will discuss various myths surrounding MTSS. An overview of data-based individualization (DBI) will be provided, including application to a potential area addressed by OT and PT. Participants will also discuss readiness and implementation considerations, including integration and alignment of the OT/PT process with the MTSS Framework.
