Character Matters

Character development is an essential part of a child’s education. It is not an add-on to the already packed school day but an essential ingredient that helps shape the school climate and culture. It is not merely education for life; it is life itself.

Character.org is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nonsectarian coalition of organizations and individuals committed to fostering effective character education in schools nationwide. It is a national advocate and leader in the character education movement.

*Note:  Being named a State School of Character (SSOC) qualifies an applicant to be considered for National Schools of Character (NSOC) status. Each holds their designation for five years.
