NC Youth Risk Behavior Survey
In the spring of every odd numbered year, NC Healthy Schools implements a statewide Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS). The NC YRBS helps assess behaviors in youth that impact their health now and in the future. Topics include violence, personal safety, physical activity, nutrition , mental health, tobacco, drugs and alcohol, protective factors and sexual behavior questions.

NC School Health Profiles
In every even numbered year, the statewide School Health Profiles Survey is conducted. The Profiles survey has two parts. The Principal survey assesses policies related to health education and school climate, and the Lead Health Education Teacher survey looks at health programs and implementation as well as student skills development. Healthy Active Children
The Healthy Active Children Policy (State Board of Education Policy SHLT-000) contains several requirements and recommendations involving the following eight sections:
