The purpose of this virtual event sponsored by NCDPI and NCOTA is to enhance OT practitioner (OTP) understanding of the differences and similarities between school-based and private practice OT, including scope of practice. Participants will discuss strategies to build relationships and empower collaboration between practice settings for information and engage in Q&A with participants for the first hour of the session. An optional 30-minute networking session with regional breakout rooms will follow to build relationships and further empower collaboration.

In 2024 the Office of Exceptional Children moved the data collection process for the American Printing House for the Blind (APH) and The DeafBlind Census through ECATS. This session will reflect on the process, information learned, impact for students and updates to enhance data collection.

This session will provide school based staff with a brief overview of the Quality Indicators for AT and the self evaluation metrics that go along with those Quality Indicators.

This session will provide school based staff with a brief introduction to AT. It will go over laws that impact AT, what moves a device from UDL to AT as well as providing some examples of different types of AT.

During our Virtual AT Networking Sessions you will have an opportunity to connect and learn from others doing the same or similar work as it relates to Assistive Technology. These sessions are facilitated by the state consultant for Assistive Technology with the goal being to provide an opportunity to interact, ask questions and learn from those serving students in the schools. After Registering participants will be provided with the link to attend the session.
