TeachReadyNC

TeachReadyNC is a registered teacher-apprenticeship initiative established by Section 7.24 of Session Law 2026-41 and administered by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction in collaboration with ApprenticeshipNC. The program is designed to increase the number of professionally licensed teachers in North Carolina while improving teacher competency, student outcomes and teacher retention. Through TeachReadyNC, individuals with bachelor’s degrees can gain full-time, supervised classroom experience while completing an approved educator preparation program and working toward professional licensure.

Participation in TeachReadyNC is limited to local school administrative units approved to participate in the Advanced Teaching Roles program. Eligible school districts interested in participating in TeachReadyNC may review the program requirements and submit an application using the link below. Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis.
