From February to May 2025, North Carolina Superintendent of Public Instruction Maurice “Mo” Green led the Mo Wants to Know (MWTK) listening and learning tour, engaging thousands of educators, students, parents, business leaders and community members.

The tour included eight regional sessions, 30+ stakeholder meetings, a dozen school visits and an open online feedback form — creating a broad, inclusive conversation about the future of public education in North Carolina.

This summary report, developed in partnership with RTI International, highlights the key themes and transformative ideas gathered statewide. The findings align with six pillars of educational excellence, emphasizing career readiness, teacher empowerment, equitable funding, whole-child support and stronger community partnerships — reflecting a shared vision for the future of North Carolina’s public schools.
