ESSA State Plan for Public Comment

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) is seeking public comment on proposed amendments to the North Carolina Consolidated State Plan for the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA State Plan). As required under ESSA, the ESSA State Plan must be made available to the public for review and comment for 30 days.

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) is seeking public comment on proposed amendments to the North Carolina Consolidated State Plan for the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA State Plan). As required under ESSA, the ESSA State Plan must be made available to the public for review and comment for 30 days. 

The proposed amendments provide technical edits to correct misspellings, grammar, punctuation, and similar typographical errors. In addition, there are a few instances in which there is a need to update or further clarify background and explanatory information. This is in order to make the State Plan more easily understood and to clarify areas that were not as clear as possible for stakeholders across the state. Most of these revisions resulted from repeated questions and/or suggestions by those in the field as well as community members.
