Impacting Instructional Decisions for Students with Specific Learning Disabilities dives into the knowledge and resources guiding the NC State Policy for Specific Learning Disabilities. This session shares foundational information to support students after eligibility has been determined. It includes a review of: state data acknowledging achievement gaps among all students and students with specific learning disabilities, the implementation of specially designed instruction, collection of progress monitoring data, and an analysis of student growth scenarios. Participants will determine the relationships between student baseline performance, ambitious rates of improvement and IEP goals and progress notes based on student data sets presented in various case studies. Participants will also be provided with resources to promote appropriate collaborative conversations about instruction and/or coaching to support the improvement of SDI for students with specific learning disabilities.
