ASD and Early Learners: Canvas Course Launch

This Canvas course is an extension of the North Carolina Foundations of Early Learning and Development modules, with a focus on autism. It is recommended that participants go through those modules prior to this course.

Participants will be provided with an overview of ASD and effective instructional practices that promote student engagement and independence in the early educational environment. Particular attention will be given to the use of visual supports (schedules, activity systems, material design, and environmental design). The intended audience for this course includes public school educators, related service providers and support staff who work with students with ASD in the early education setting. Participants can access this course through NCEES.
