The Department of Public Instruction’s District Visits and Voices team visited Kannapolis City Schools and Gaston County Schools in the southwest district in mid-October.

Wrapping up September, the Department of Public Instruction District Visits and Voices team traveled to Appalachian State University and Watauga County Schools. Superintendent of Public Instruction Catherine Truitt and her team met with the Appalachian Educators Club at Appalachian State University before continuing their visit west to Watauga County Schools.

Beginning their 2021-22 school year visits in September, the Department of Public Instruction District Visits and Voices team traveled to Haywood and Madison counties.

To begin the 2020-21 school year, Superintendent Catherine Truitt and her team traveled across the state to greet educators, students and their families during the first week of school.

Wrapping up summer visits, North Carolina Department of Public Instruction Superintendent Catherine Truitt and her staff traveled to Yancey, Henderson and Wayne counties to focus on strategies that prepare students for post-secondary success.

The District Visit Voices team continued their visits across the state and met with teachers and superintendents from Transylvania, Buncombe and Bertie to discuss licensure, teacher housing and investment in human capital

Wrapping up a full month of visits in July, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction staff and regional team traveled to Halifax and Martin counties to witness the innovative education strategies in the northeast.

Continuing their visits of the North Carolina school extension programs, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction staff and regional teams spent time in Camden, Gates and Hertford counties in late July.

With thousands of North Carolinians taking part in various summer learning opportunities, Department of Public Instruction Superintendent Catherine Truitt, members of the DPI team and regional staff traveled to Moore and Carteret counties as districts transitioned from the 2020-21 school year to the 2021 school extension program.
