The North Carolina Innovative School District (ISD) is seeking proven* and/or credible** charter management/education management organizations (CMO/EMO) to partner with our district and local communities to ensure strong outcomes for students in some of our state's lowest performing schools. All prospective operators for the North Carolina ISD must submit this Notice of Intent to Apply by 5 p.m. EST on August 11, 2017.

Educators, parents, students and other stakeholders of North Carolina’s public schools are invited to comment on the draft North Carolina Consolidated State Plan for the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA State Plan). While the ESSA State Plan has been available for public comment since the initial draft was posted on Sept. 29, 2016, the posting of the new draft on June 26 marks the official beginning of the public review and comment period.

The NC Department of Public Instruction Exceptional Children Division is accepting public comments on proposed changes to the North Carolina Extended Content Standards for English Language Arts (ELA).

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) is making available its annual state application for receiving grant award under Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) as amended in 2004. The proposed application will be available for public review March 6 - May 5, 2017.
