Transdisciplinary Play-Based Assessment 2: The Essentials is an overview of the developmentally appropriate evaluation tool used with young children. During the session, participants will be introduced to the TPBA2 process, which includes establishing an effective team and utilizing parents as a key component to inform decisions. In addition, a summary of the observation guidelines and age tables will be presented. This session is intended for new evaluation team members inclusive of these roles: psychologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, play facilitators, and parent facilitators.
 
This session is offered in a synchronous virtual format.


Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • explain the rationale for Transdisciplinary Play-Based Assessment-2 (TPBA2), including the importance of a transdisciplinary team approach.

  • outline the process and key components of TPBA, including:

    • Identifying the individuals involved in TPBA.

    • Describing the timeline and steps of the assessment process.

    • Summarizing the purpose of forms used for information gathering.

Required Resources

It is required that participants have available to them the TPBA2 Assessment Manual and the TPBA2 Administration Manual. These manuals are available for purchase through the Brookes Publishing website.
