Educational Audiology Webinar Series. Webinar #2
Description: A growing area of pediatric audiology is in bone conduction technology. Historically only non-surgical options were available for school-aged children with conductive or mixed hearing losses. Over the last several years, new surgical options have become more readily available for the pediatric population from multiple manufacturers. As this is an ever-evolving area of pediatric audiology, it is helpful to be aware of current candidacy qualifications for each device, as well as the pediatric features that are important to consider (FM compatibility, tamper proofing options, etc.) when discussing surgical and non-surgical technology with potential school-aged candidates.
