Educators, Make Your Voice Heard: Participate in the 2026 NC Teacher Working Conditions Survey

Every day, educators across North Carolina shape the lives of students and the future of our communities. Just as teachers work to ensure students have what they need to succeed, school, district and state education leaders strive to ensure educators have the supportive and effective environments they deserve that allow them to teach and lead. One of the most important ways educators can help ensure educator needs are met is by completing the 2026 North Carolina Teacher Working Conditions (TWC) Survey.

The Teacher Working Conditions Survey is an anonymous statewide survey designed to better understand the realities educators experience in their teaching environments and helps identify the support and resources educators require to help students achieve excellence.

Teacher voice is at the center of this effort. By sharing honest feedback about areas such as school leadership, professional development, instructional resources, school climate and community support, educators help identify both strengths and opportunities for improvement across schools and districts. Over the years, the survey has become one of the most important tools for understanding what teachers need to do their best work. Educators who complete the TWC Survey help create a clearer picture of teaching conditions across North Carolina and ensure that decisions affecting schools are informed by the people who know classrooms best.

The statewide survey is open now through the end of the month of March and all eligible classroom teachers and licensed school-based educators are encouraged to participate. See additional information on who takes the survey here. The survey only takes about 20 minutes to complete and can be accessed from any internet-enabled device using a confidential code provided by the school-level TWC Coordinator.

The Teacher Working Conditions Survey is an opportunity for educators to reflect on their experiences and help shape the future of education in North Carolina. By taking just a few minutes to complete the survey, teachers can help inform decisions that affect classrooms, colleagues and students across the state.

If you are eligible to participate, we encourage you to please complete the survey by March 31, 2026. Your voice matters.
